In my world, there's no such thing as still life. No matter what the subject, there's always life. And life is never still. Because light won't permit it. Light, to my eye, is the essence of life. It dictates the mood of an image. It summons emotion. It lends action. It defines calm. So I follow light. I watch what it does, where it goes. I seek those moments which will never be repeated. Moments where the sun just leaves a window. Where sudden brightening uncovers a corner. Where a generous doorjamb permits a bit of hall light to enter. Where an unseen texture is revealed by a subtle reflection. My real job is chasing light. Photography just makes it legitimate.
