Kyle Alexander is a commercial advertising photographer and filmmaker. Growing up in a small Texas town, he started shooting with his father’s 35mm Nikkomat at age 13. His first subjects were friends skateboarding on ramps, loitering in the streets, and going to concerts.

After moving to Austin following high school, Kyle attended University and received a degree in English Literature and a minor in Photography and Film.  Soon after graduation he moved to the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii to shoot and film surfing. While living in Oahu he began working in TV production and on several feature film sets in the camera departments.  While not on these sets, Kyle honed his craft. The cultivation of his passion for the creation of imagery was influenced by the photography of Robert Frank, the films of Federico Fellini and the writings of Bernard Moitessier.

After 5 years spent in Hawaii , Kyle decided moving to LA would help him to pursue his goals in film and photography . His first job was with the renowned Patrick Dermarchelier on a high budget fashion shoot in the back lot of one of the major film studios. This experience was illuminating and further solidified his desire to pursue a career in commercial photography.  Kyle continued working as an assistant to several photographers in Fashion and Advertising, which led to producing shoots himself for several years.  Producing allowed him to further his knowledge of the photography business while giving him time to continue shooting.  Shortly thereafter he began to shoot campaigns for Quiksilver, Roxy, Vans and Oneill.   Today Kyle lives in Manhattan Beach, California with his lovely  chocolate lab named Princess Leia . He enjoys surfing, running and anything and everything at all related to soccer.
